Loop Parade
Every walk is a personality
It started as Motiontober
In October 2021 I set myself a challenge: one walk cycle a day for 31 days, each one made from scratch the same day, from the idea to the final loop.
Every character is the same circle on two rubber-hose legs: no arms, no costume, only a hat and a face. So the personality has to come from the walk itself: the timing, how far the body sinks into each step, the bounce, where the head looks and how the foot meets the ground.

From a challenge to a parade
The first time I posted the set, not much happened. Then it kept coming back. In 2023 it went around LinkedIn, and in 2025 it went viral on Xiaohongshu. Across platforms the walks have passed 10 million organic views and 160,000 likes.
The most common comment was some version of “that’s me”. People tag their friends with the number they walk like, and someone promised to walk like #9 once the mortgage is paid off. So the walks got a place of their own: loopparade.com, with an album of all 35 loops to find who walks like you, and a daily walk-off where two loops take on the same situation and everyone votes.

Now they walk live
This year I moved the whole parade from After Effects to Rive. Every loop now runs on one rig, with its colour, face, hat and walk as separate pieces, so any combination works and plays live in the browser rather than as a video.
That makes the next step possible: a small planet where anyone can make their own loop and walk it with others. The world opens soon, and you can already make your loop and get in line.
